Director of Narok Line Services Limited, Andrew Mwangi has called on transport authorities, particularly the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), to proactively issue timely alerts on flooded routes to safeguard drivers and passengers during the ongoing rainy season.

Mwangi stressed the importance of disseminating these alerts widely through social media and mainstream media to ensure they reach all road users.

He singled out flood-prone routes such as the Mai Mahiu–Narok and Narok–Bomet roads, urging drivers to exercise extreme caution in those areas.

“Drivers should stay clear of flooded routes until water levels drop and it’s safe to proceed,” he said. “Safety must come first, always.”

In addition to flood warnings, Mwangi called on drivers to avoid the temptation of rushing to make extra trips at the expense of passenger safety.

He warned that reckless driving could lead to avoidable accidents and emphasized that every passenger has people who depend on them.

He also urged traffic officers to uphold integrity by refusing bribes and ensuring that only roadworthy vehicles are allowed to operate.
