Venezuela’s attorney general on Sunday described as “cynical” Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele’s proposal to exchange 252 Venezuelan migrants expelled by the United States and incarcerated in his country for “political prisoners” held by Caracas.
“I immediately request the complete list with identification of all detainees and their judicial status, as well as proof of life and a medical report on each of the hostages,” Tarek William Saab said in a statement, also demanding to know what crimes they were accused of, whether they had appeared before a judge and if they had lawyers.
