The Kenya National Police DT SACCO (KNPDTS) has been ranked the second-best performing employer-based Deposit-Taking SACCO in the country. The recognition was made during the 2025 International Co-operatives Day Celebrations held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The award was presented by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, in the presence of Cooperatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Hanna Cheptumo, and Principal Secretary for the State Department of Cooperatives Patrick Kilemi.
KNPDTS was represented at the event by Director Elizabeth Nyagah, General Manager for ICT and Business Innovations Frank Tirimba, and Marketing Manager Ann Njuguna.
The award acknowledges the SACCO’s performance in areas such as financial stability, governance, service delivery, and community engagement.
In a statement following the ceremony, the SACCO leadership noted:
“This award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence, outstanding member service, and the cooperative spirit that drives our success.”
The SACCO also highlighted the collective effort behind the recognition:
“A heartfelt thank you to all our members, partners, and stakeholders who continue to believe in and support our mission.”
The recognition comes at a time when Kenya’s cooperative movement continues to expand, with over 6 million members and assets exceeding KES 1.2 trillion. Employer-based SACCOs, such as KNPDTS, remain key players in promoting financial access and economic inclusion within their respective sectors.
This year’s Co-operatives Day was held under the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” underscoring the sector’s role in promoting sustainable development and community empowerment.
