The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Men’s National League champions, General Service Unit (GSU) volleyball team, were hosted by Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja on Tuesday at Jogoo House in Nairobi.
The team presented their league trophies to the Inspector General, who was accompanied by the Deputy Inspector General (Administration Police Service), Mr Gilbert Masengeli.
GSU volleyball team defeated Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in straight sets at the Moi International Sports Centre’s Kasarani Gymnasium to win the KVF Men’s National League title.
They later lifted the inaugural Kenya Cup last weekend, marking a historic double win.

IG Kanja congratulated the crew and praised their discipline, hard work, and pride in the National Police Service (NPS).
He advised the athletes to take advantage of their achievements by setting aside money for the future and upholding strict discipline for further success.
Reaffirming the NPS’s commitment to supporting sports development, IG Kanja assured the team of continued backing as they prepare to represent Kenya on the continental stage.
Also present at the ceremony were the Principal Assistant to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mathew Kutoh, SAIG; Commandant of the Security of Government Buildings (SGB) Unit Mr Lazarus Opicho, SAIG; and the Personal Assistant to the IG, Mr James Murithi, CP, among other senior officers.
