An 85-year-old woman is facing charges in a Mavoko court for allegedly attempting to seize 2.09 hectares of land worth KSh 150 million, owned by Kipkai Enterprises Limited, in Athi River.

Beatrice Ngina Mutuku has been accused of seven offenses, including forging a land title deed and unlawfully entering private property.

The accused, along with others who remain at large, such as Siyad Kadir, is believed to have left the country.

Reports indicate that on September 12, 2024, in Athi River township, Mutuku and her accomplices forcefully entered the land registered under LR 12715/627 LR 40213/3, potentially disturbing the peace of  the director of Kipkai Enterprises Limited.

Mutuku is also accused of altering the land registration number LR 12715/627 LR No. 46952 on September 23 last year.

In same case three robbery suspects were granted cash bail of KSh 500,000 each at the Mavoko Law Courts for conspiring to commit a felony, contrary to Section 393 of the Penal Code.

On September 12, 2024, in the Olonyori area, Syokimau, Athi River Sub-County, within Machakos County, these three men, along with others not present in court, allegedly conspired to steal a 20-foot container, barbed wire, chain link, various building materials, and a metal gate, all valued at KSh 3,813,250, belonging to Kipkai Enterprises Limited

However, the four accused did not appear in court on Tuesday, October 21, when the case was mentioned, and they remain at large despite the prosecutor’s request for an arrest warrant, which the court declined.
