Nigeria will face Gabon as Cameroon takes on DR Congo in the semi-finals of the 2026 CAF FIFA World Cup playoffs on Thursday evening, 13th November, in Rabat, Morocco.
Four-time African champions,Nigeria Super Eagles will meet Gabon’s Panthers in the first semi-final, which kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat.
The Leopards of DR Congo and the Indomitable Lions from Cameroon will clash in a Central African derby at the Stade El Barid in Rabat at 9 p.m. Kenyan time whith Cameroon chasing their 9th FIFA World Cup appearance.
The winners of today’s semi-finals will move on to the final on the 16th, where they will compete for a place in the last intercontinental playoff, which offers a chance to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup .
The draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Play-Off Tournament and the European Play-Off is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2025, in Zurich, Switzerland.
28 teams have already qualified for next year’s historic tournament, while an additional 14 countries—three from Concacaf and 11 from UEFA—are vying for a spot in the finals through confederation qualifying this month.
The draw will outline the paths for the 22 competing nations—six through the play-off tournament and 16 via European play-off matches—to secure a place in the inaugural 48-team FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19, 2026.
Nine African nations have already secured their spots in the tournament: Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, and Ivory Coast.
