Tiago Oliveira and Milan Gajdobranski delivered a strong performance to clinch gold in the canoeing and Kayaking 1000m event as the ongoing Open Masters Games entered Day Two in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The duo showed excellent coordination and endurance to outpace a competitive field, crossing the finish line first
The interesting sporting event of the day was the Canoeing and Kayaking which saw Oliveira and Milan clich gold medals They timed 4mins 02.16 secs.
Christian Matei teamed up with Vaeceslav Sergheev to claim the silver medal in 4mins 05.99 secs. Meanwhile, Andrei Stakheoka and Artsiom Katliar settled for bronze, rounding off the podium after a disciplined and consistent performance.
They clocked 4mins 19.09 secs.Meanwhile, Gennady Mezhenkikov and Your Talkachou won gold medals in the 60 plus age category clocking 4mins 34.63 secs followed by Iliya Iliev and Aleksandras Ambotas in 4 mins 39.36 secs.
The canoeing 1000m competition was among several highlights on Day Two of the Open Masters Games, which has brought together veteran athletes from across the globe.
The multi-sport event continues tomorrow.
