Beatrice Muraguri to double as both Assistant Head Coach and Middle Distance Coach in Oregon

Nala Track’s coach Beatrice Muraguri will play a double role for Team Kenya during the 21st World Athletics Under-20 Championships slated for Eugene, Oregon, USA, between August 5th and 9th, 2026.

Muraguri, who trains athletes at the Nyahururu-based camp Nala Track, will deputize for Head Coach Robert Ng’isirei in the 23-member team as well as be in charge of the middle-distance athletes, who are: Nancy Chepng’etich, Marion Jepchumba, Nahashon Pkiach, and Collins Tentera (800m); Josephine Sembeyo, Caren Chepchirchir, Wilson Chepkwech, and David Kapaiko (1500m).

It is the first time that coach Muraguri will be in charge of Team Kenya and brags having two athletes Caren Chepchirchir (but 1500m) and Nancy Chepng’etich(800) whom she trains back at the Nala Track Athletics Camp.

The team is currently in a residential training camp in Kasarani,preparation for the global competition.
