The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely social assistance to vulnerable households following the disbursement of Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CT-OVC) payments for April, May, and June 2026.
In a statement, CPA Carren Ageng’o, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Children Services, emphasised that the latest disbursement highlights the Government’s dedication to strengthening household resilience, improving access to education, healthcare, and nutrition, and enhancing child protection nationwide.
“The Government remains committed to ensuring timely social assistance to vulnerable households, strengthening household resilience, promoting access to education, healthcare and nutrition, and enhancing child protection,” Ageng’o stated.
The Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services confirmed that the funds have been released via the contracted Payment Service Provider and are now accessible to eligible beneficiaries.
Each beneficiary household will receive Ksh 6,000, which accounts for three monthly payments of Ksh 2,000 each for April, May, and June 2026. The disbursement process began on 31 July.
Beneficiaries who have not yet accessed their funds have been advised to first confirm receipt of an official payment notification from their Payment Service Provider before visiting designated payment agents.
Ageng’o further advised beneficiaries encountering payment-related issues to seek assistance at the nearest Sub-County, County, or Regional Children’s Office, or by calling the toll-free helpline, 1533.
The PS also announced that preparations for the July 2026 payment cycle are at an advanced stage, and beneficiaries will be notified once the next round of payments is ready for disbursement.
The Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children Programme is a key government social protection initiative designed to support vulnerable households by improving the welfare, care, and protection of orphaned and vulnerable children.
