Hip-hop artist, Collo, is set to perform alongside Razini, an emerging songwriter, singer and rapper, MC Riziki and DJ McLaren at the Beats & Deals Street Storm in collaboration with Distinct Sound Master, on April 5.
The Street performance is set to begin from 5pm as Collo makes a special appearance, performing his latest songs from the recently released EP,, D.E.P Vol. 1 (Dope).
Razini first performed with Collo during the Fanisi Experiment Show at Geco Cafe in October 2023. Since then Collo has been mentoring Razini in music and its business.
Collo first gained prominence in the industry with the award-winning group, Kleptomaniax, before venturing into a successful solo career and collaborations with other renowned artists.
His chart-toppers include hits like “You Guy” with P-Unit, “Party Don’t Stop” with Camp Mulla, and “Bazokizo” with Bruz Newton.
While promoting his new body of work, Collo said: “Hip Hop is undeniably the world’s most influential culture and musical genre of our time. It’s now 50 years plus and the EP is about what’s next as I celebrate 20 plus years in the recording industry”
D.E.P Vol.1, Vol.2 and Vol.3 are inspired by Collo’s original name at the start of his career. The abbreviation stands for Dope-Expressive-Priceless; a special gift to his fans and as a way to introducing himself to a fresh audience.
Beyond his musical accomplishments, Collo has found success in various media and entertainment sectors, including roles as a radio and TV presenter and copywriting in advertising.
The team produced a listening party that was held at Mageuzi Hub in Kilimani last year October 26th 2024.
