Six singles from the second mixtape, ‘Blinding Allure II’ will be released on Friday.
On Wednesday evening, Kenyan singer-songwriter and nominated Senator Crystal Asige hosted an intimate listening party for the second half of her mixtape, ‘Blinding Allure II’ ahead of its official release on Friday, February 13.
The project features six tracks and continues with the sonic and personal journey she first introduced in her earlier ‘Blinding Allure’ body of work released in 2023.
The new mixtape features collaborations with beloved Kenyan stars like Nviiri on “HiiStory”, Max Okello on “Sema” and Coaster Ojwang on “Umeme na Maji”, blending Afro-pop, R&B and alternative influences to produce a layered, distinct sound.

Industry peers and invited guests gathered for the private preview, offering early praise for the project. Among those was Shakira Wafula, who gained fame from the June 2024 protests, who said, “you are who you think you are” after attending the mixtape launch.
Asige has previously described her ‘Blinding Allure’ series as “more than just a mixtape” but “ a melodic journey that serves as an homage to Kenya’s diverse youth,” underscoring her intention to create music that resonates deeply with lived experience. She released “Tattoo”, a single from the mixtape in 2024, in solidarity with Kenyan women fighting Femicide.
