Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku, has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to accelerating development projects, empowering the youth, and fostering peace as the country prepares for the 2027 General Elections.
Speaking during Sunday church services at Kimbimbi Catholic Church in Mwea Constituency, Kirinyaga County, and later at ACK Muthatari in Manyatta Constituency, Embu County, CS Ruku emphasised the Kenya Kwanza administration’s dedication to completing all pending projects and delivering transformative change to citizens.
“President William Ruto is committed to fast-tracking all stalled projects to ensure their completion. As a Ministry, we are working closely with all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of impactful services to the people,” he told congregants.
The Cabinet Secretary announced the rollout of a new youth engagement initiative that will involve young people in assisting elderly citizens, particularly those struggling to access online government services at Huduma Centres.
“We intend to launch a program that will engage the youth in supporting elderly Kenyans who face difficulties accessing services at Huduma Centres. This initiative promotes inclusive service delivery while creating meaningful opportunities for our young people,” he said.
On matters of health, CS Ruku urged Kenyans to register for the Social Health Authority (SHA) scheme, describing it as a crucial step towards achieving universal health coverage.
“SHA is working. Everyone should register and take full advantage to ensure our families have access to quality healthcare. Despite initial challenges, the issues have been addressed,” he noted.
Addressing the political environment ahead of the 2027 elections, the CS called for unity and peace, stressing the need for responsible leadership.
“We must maintain peace in our country. Any leader who speaks of bloodshed in the 2027 elections is unfit to lead. Kenya must always come first,” he declared, drawing loud applause from the congregation.
Later, CS Ruku fellowshipped with the congregation of ACK Diocese of Embu — Trinity Church, Muthatari in Manyatta Constituency, Embu County.
In his address to the people of Manyatta, he highlighted the national government projects ongoing in Embu County, including modern markets, upgrading of roads to bitumen standards, an industrial park, irrigation and water projects, and housing developments. He emphasised that these projects are instrumental to the economic transformation of the country.
“The expected completion of these projects underlines the government’s commitment to improving the quality of public services dispensed to the people of Embu County and Kenya,” he said.
He further noted that the government, led by President William Samoei Ruto and his Deputy Kithure Kindiki, has invested more than Ksh 12 billion in critical infrastructure projects in the last two years in Embu County to uplift the quality of life for residents.
CS Ruku reaffirmed his commitment to continued grassroots engagement to better understand citizen needs and tailor ministry programs accordingly.
