DIB Bank Kenya (DIBBK), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC—the largest Islamic bank in the UAE—has officially opened a new branch in Nyali, Mombasa, marking the bank’s eighth branch in the country.
The new location, which increases its Mombasa footprint to three branches, is DIBBK’s latest addition within a week, following the successful launch of its South C branch in Nairobi. This expansion aligns with the bank’s strategic growth plan to facilitate businesses and meet the rising demand for Shariah-compliant financial solutions.
The opening of the Nyali location is a direct response to customers’ calls for greater convenience in the bank’s products and services. This branch joins the existing Moi Avenue and Bondeni branches, further strengthening DIBBK’s presence in Mombasa.
“We are excited about our move to Nyali. As a high-traffic area, we are poised to serve our existing and potential clients better and strengthen our market presence,” said Ms Mary Kanuku, Ag. CEO/Managing Director of DIB Bank Kenya.
As part of its expansion strategy, DIB Bank Kenya (DIBBK) celebrates this milestone as a reaffirmation of its commitment to delivering accessible Shariah-compliant financial solutions.
This achievement highlights the rising demand for ethical banking in Kenya and positions DIBBK as a key enabler of inclusive, value-driven financial services in the region.
“The new branch, which is conveniently located in Nyali, brings us closer to our fast-growing customer base,” explained DIB Board of Directors member Dr Steve Mainda. “We will continue to invest in carefully chosen locations, meet the growing demand for our services and products, and grow the business.”
The chief guest, Mr. Mohamed Osman Ali, County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Tourism, Culture, and Trade in Mombasa County, welcomed DIB Bank Kenya’s increasing presence in the coastal city: “County 001 continues to
facilitate favourable investment opportunities. I congratulate you on this milestone achievement.” Dr Mbwarali Kame, PhD, CECM for Education and VTC, Mombasa County, also attended the launch among other guests.
Currently, DIB Bank Kenya, which successfully entered the Kenyan market in 2017, now has eight strategic locations across Nairobi and Mombasa.
