Final preparations complete for late Raila Odinga’s farewell

Final preparations are complete for the farewell of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, set to take place today in Bondo, Siaya County.

President William Ruto is this morning expected to lead thousands of Kenyans and other dignitaries for the final sendoff of the late former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST),

Leaders from the region led by Interior Principal Secrectary Raymond Omollo gathered yesterday JOOUST, the venue for the funeral service, to inspect the final preparations.

Omollo said the service scheduled to begin at 9am will be conducted by the church in collaboration with the Military.

The remains of Raila were later airlifted to his Opoda Farm residence after a public viewing at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

The helicopter carrying his body touched down at Opoda Farm at 4:16 p.m, where mourners wailed and blew vuvuzelas as the casket was received by the Odinga family.

The late Raila will be interred later today at his Kang’o  Kajaramogi home in Bondo, Siaya County.
