The Kenya Judoka team to the African Cadet and Junior Judo Championships is back in the country from Luanda , Angola after a spirited fight in the continental event where they reached the knockout stage.
In a championship that brought together Africa’s top emerging judo talents, Kenya’s young judokas showcased remarkable skill, determination and resilience before they bowed out in the quarter-finals.
Their performance was enough to secure them qualification points for upcoming international events like the upcoming Africa Youth Games in Angola this December and the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar.

The team also had the rare opportunity to attend a masterclass dubbed “Sewing Seeds of Hope and Harvesting Excellence,” led by Judo legend and Olympic champion Clarisse Agbegnenou of France.
Their focus now shifts to the ANOCA African School Games in Algeria, where they hope to continue their upward trajectory.
