Harambee Stars registered its first win under coach Benni McCarthy, beating Chad 2-1, in a FIFA international friendly played yesterday evening at the grand Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.
Emmanuel Osoro, who earned his 1st international call-up, put Harambee Stars ahead in the 18th minute, before David Sakwa doubled the lead shortly before the half-time whistle.
Several changes by the homesite of the day in the second stanza revived their game, and they were rewarded in the 60th minute when Aki Mammar pulled 1 back.
The result ended Kenya’s six-match winless streak since January this year, when they beat host Tanzania by a similar scoreline at Gamboni Stadium.
The two sides played to a barren draw in the 1st encounter in the same venue last Saturday.
Keny used the match to prep for the African Nations Championship, which will be held jointly by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 2nd August this year.
