Supreme Court Judge and Chairperson of the Integrated Court Management Systems and Communication Committee of the Judiciary, Justice Isaac Lenaola, has called on justice sector actors to ensure that Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are fully included in digital enhancement programmes.

“Access to justice cannot be achieved if we do not include Persons with Disabilities. All actors in the justice sector must work together to guarantee digital inclusivity for all,” Justice Lenaola emphasized in his official opening remarks at a Sensitization, Maturity Assessment, Platform Enhancement, and Capacity Building Workshop.

He acknowledged the Judiciary’s progress in embracing technology but noted that gaps remain in making digital tools accessible to PWDs. Bridging these gaps, he stated, is essential to align with the Social Transformation through Access to Justice (STAJ) vision of accessibility and inclusivity.

“Digital accessibility is a right that must be embraced by all. I urge you to continuously assess your platforms to ensure equal access to information and services for everyone,” he added.

The five-day workshop brought together judges, judicial officers, and directors, alongside representatives from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Kenya Law, KEBS, the Kenya Society for the Blind, and others.
