The two events are pivotal in the KITFest calendar. The honour of the Face of the Festival is usually bestowed upon an individual who left an indelible mark during the previous edition and its activities.

In 2022, the ambassador for the festival was Martin Githinji who became a household name for starring in the series Sue na Johnnie where he played the titular character Johnnie. Githinji also starred in the Netflix movie “The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind” alongside  Chiwetel Ejiofor.

According to KIT, this year’s choice will acknowledge the phenomenal and inspiring women who have enriched Kenya’s theatre and performing arts industry. Through them, KITFest will highlight the powerful impact of women in shaping the artistic landscape of Kenya.

KITFest is an annual festival event organised by the Kenya International Theatre that takes place every year in November. The first event was held in 2013 and now boasts an event filled with theatrical performances and a variety of different experiences curated specifically for its attendees. Most activities at KITFest are curated to promote fun, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

Applications to participate are ongoing and will close on July 31.
