The 10th edition of Kikuyu Love Session, billed as the Slightly Scandalous Edition, brought vernacular music lovers together at Ngong Racecourse for an evening of music, stories and Kikuyu culture.
The event was built around heritage, self-expression and community, with a mix of traditional and contemporary Kenyan culture. Guests were encouraged to embrace spontaneity and meet new people.
The event’s lineup featured performances from Lil Maina, Ayrosh, Chris Kaiga, Mūringī & Friends and AFRIMA Award winners Hornsphere. Comedian Mammito hosted the evening and guided guests through the programme.
Manyatta Cider was a partner at this year’s edition. The brand said the partnership reflects its support for Kenyan cultural experiences that bring communities together.
Speaking during the event, Manyatta’s Brand Manager Catherine Wahu said: “Culture has a special way of bringing people together, creating a sense of belonging and reminding us of the things we share.”
She said the partnership with Kikuyu Love Session “reflects our Taste Like Home spirit and our commitment to celebrating the connections that make us who we are.”
The Slightly Scandalous Edition celebrated the richness of vernacular music and culture, showing how cultural platforms can honour heritage while staying relevant to contemporary audiences.
