Principal Secretary, State Department for MSMEs Development Susan Mang’eni Monday morning led the Nyota Project Nationwide Sensitisation in Uasin Gishu County.

The sensitisation program comes with an extension of the application window for the NYOTA Project Business Support Component, which will remain open until 12th October 2025.

The NYOTA Project is Kenya’s most comprehensive national program for job creation and business empowerment.

The Business Support Component aims to empower 100,000 young Kenyans with a grant of Ksh. 50,000 each, distributed equally to 70 youth in every ward across the country.

Beneficiaries will also be connected to a supportive ecosystem of business opportunities, including access to AGPO government tenders, micro-franchises, and seller-agent networks.

Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor, David Kapkea, reaffirmed the support of Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim and the County Government for the program, noting that the NYOTA initiative aligns closely with the county’s own efforts to advance youth economic empowerment.

Member of Parliament for Soy Constituency, David Kiplagat urged the youth beneficiaries to use the Ksh. 50,000 grants wisely by investing them solely in business ventures that will foster self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
