Kenyan RnB artist Nikita Kering has released a new song “Let You Down” alongside Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Kemena.

The Afrobeats heavy track fuses Kering’s sultry RnB vocals with Kemena’s subdued authoritative vocals to paint a picture of a relationship breakdown.

Kering’, who shared a snippet of the song ahead of its release expressed her thankfulness to her fans and the “amazing team” behind the single’s production.

This isn’t the first time the award-winning songbird has dabbled in Afrobeats.

Last year Nikita performed in a one-off concert alongside Nigerian singer-songwriter CKay, London-born and double MOBO nominee Maleek Berry, hip-hop legend Sarkodie, and “Finesse” singer-songwriter Pheelz on BBC1Xtra presented by Remi Burgz, Eddie Kadi and DJ Edu.

The live performance preceded her Coke Studio Africa appearance alongside rapper Khaligraph Jones.

The song was produced by Kemena who said previously that he prefers to make music that “tells stories” a combination he believes “was made in heaven.”

Kemena made waves on the continent when his album Bond peaked at No. 24 on Apple Music’s Top 100 World Albums.

The song is streaming on all digital platforms.
