Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has departed Qatari Stars League side Al- Duhail Sports Club after Four years at the Qatari Club.
Olunga previously featured for Kashiwa Reysols a Japanese club before he made his move to the Qatari side. The striker joined Al-Duhail sports on a three season contract from Japan.
The former Thika United and Gor Mahia striker is set to leave the club after becoming the club’s all-time leading goal scorer with 130 goals in all Competitions.
“The management of Al-Duhail Sports club extends its gratitude and appreciation Kenyan striker Michel Olunga the club’s historical goal scorer for he has given outstanding contribution and exceptional performance during his career with the first team. Olunga has been an example of professionalism and discipline on and off the pitch, he has significantly contributed to the club’s many achievements and championships, and he has also left a clear mark on the club’s history through his decisive goals and contributions”. Al-Duhail said in a statement.
“The Al-Duhail club family wishes Michael Olunga all the best steps and assures the club’s doors will remain open to the historic flood scorer. Thank you Olunga. You will always be an integral part of the Duhail Family” the club added.
Olunga posted on his social media platforms about his decision to part ways with Al-Duhal.
