This December, Nairobi is set to relive the golden era of R&B when the legendary Joe Thomas, better known mononymously as Joe, takes the stage at Uhuru Gardens.

The event, dubbed ‘Joe Live in Nairobi’, will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, and is organised by We Outside, Rhythm & Brunch, and Glenlivet. Promoters promise a night filled with soulful nostalgia, electrifying performances, and unforgettable memories.

Joe, who rose to global fame in the 1990s and early 2000s, is best known for timeless hits such as “I Wanna Know” and “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do)”. His music, celebrated for its smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics, is considered one of many that became the soundtracks of an entire generation.

Joining Joe on stage will be Kenya’s own (as of yet unnamed) pioneers of 90s R&B and urban soundscape, ensuring a unique fusion of international stardom and local artistry.

“With this show, we aim to create an immersive atmosphere where fans can sing along, dance, and relive the magic of their youth,” organisers said in a statement to KBC Digital.

The concert is geared toward Nairobi’s Gen X and millennial audiences, socially conscious and trend-savvy professionals between the ages of 30 and 55.

“The evening is more than just a show, it’s a cultural experience that combines premium hospitality with world-class entertainment,” the statement added.

Tickets are currently on sale for the ‘Joe Live in Nairobi’ experience, with 50% already sold out, according to organisers.
