Kenya defeated Uganda 4-0 to register their second consecutive win at the ongoing CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship at Azam Complex,Chamazi Dar E Salam,Tanzania.

Kenya’s Harambee Starlets had opened the championship with a clinical 3-0 thumping of Burundi and appeared to carry on the form to Tuesday’s match.

Beldine Odemba’s charges were off the block first and dominated their opponents with ever lively Violet Nanjala and Fasila Adhiambo having a game of their lives in the wide areas.

Odemba made four changes to her starting line up against Uganda handing Lilian Awuor a start in the goal ahead of Annedy Kundu who began between the posts against Burundi on Sunday.

Odemba also brought in to her starting eleven Fasila Adhiambo, left back Enez Mango and Lavender Akinyi.

Diana Wacera was key at the heart of the midfield and her sublime defence splitting pass was finished off by Nanjala who perfectly timed her run to chip the ball past an onrushing Uganda goalkeeper for Kenya’s third goal in the 28th minute, minutes after Dorcas Shikobe and Wacera had scored a goal a piece for Starlets.

Kenya took a commanding 3-0 half time lead and let their opponents chase the game in the second half.

Uganda however struggled to break a solid Kenyan backline that was led by captain and woman of the match Shikobe,Mango and Ruth Ingotsi.

Martha Amunyolet quiet for much of the game however put the matters beyond for Uganda scoring Kenya’s fourth goal with eight minutes to go.She rose high to head home a pinpoint shikobe cross.

Starlets face South Sudan next on Thursday,June 19th before winding the round robbin fixtures against hosts Tanzania on Saturday.
