Two arrested as police seize 9 sacks of bhang in Limuru

Police have seized 9 sacks of bhang in an operation along the Maai Mahiu-Nairobi road in Limuru.

Two suspects, 37-year-old Minja Jimmy and Bernard Nyabero Nyakangi were arrested after law enforcement officers intercepted a vehicle and recovered nine 90-kilogram sacks of bhang.

Upon search, the vehicle was found to have been stashed with the sacks that were neatly covered with a black polythene paper.

“In an Intelligence led operation, a multi-agency team comprising of Transnational Organized Crime and Anti-Narcotics units’ detectives augmented by officers drawn from Mutarakwa police post within Limuru subcounty have arrested two suspects and recovered nine- ninety kilogram sacks containing cannabis sativa,” a statement by the DCI reads.

The suspects were booked at Mutarakwa police post before being transferred to DCI headquarters for further processing and arraignment.
