Pesapal has unveiled a new digital solution that will help fuel transporters tackle fuel theft, transaction fraud, and tracking challenges they face across East Africa.

The digital fleet fuel management platform dubbed Drive is designed to reduce high operating costs associated with fuel a factor which is attributed to over reliance on paper logbooks, phone calls to approve fueling, and irregular monthly reconciliations.

According to the firm, Drive addresses these challenges by providing businesses with real-time control and visibility over every fuel transaction across their fleet

“Over time, businesses have had to choose between trusting blindly or micromanaging manually when it comes to managing their fleet,” said Agosta Liko, Pesapal Chief Executive Officer.

The firm says the platform will help businesses seal the leaks that quietly drain profits and fleet managers who spend more time chasing receipts than running operations.

“Drive removes that trade-off. As a business owner, you can now see exactly where your fuel money goes, stop losses before they happen and finally run your fleet the way it should be run,” he added.

Already piloted successfully in Nairobi and now expanding regionally, Drive integrates directly with Pesapal’s Forecourt Management Solution (FMS) which is powering digital fueling and payments at over 200 stations across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zambia.

Liko said the integration, Drive creates a seamless digital ecosystem that benefits both fleet owners and fuel stations.

The platform allows businesses to among others, register their vehicles and drivers, set custom fueling rules, daily caps and approval requirements. All transactions are also documented for audit and compliance purposes.
