More tributes continue to pour in for fallen KBC presenter Festus Amimo.

Until his sudden death on Sunday morning, the renowned broadcaster headed the Luo station Mayienga FM.

Government leaders are among those mourning Amimo, 46, who also served as the chair of the Luo Journalists Association.

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said he was deeply saddened by the passing of his friend, Festus Amimo. He praised him for his leadership and passion for storytelling, which shaped countless voices and strengthened the profession.

“Festus was a warm soul, a steady presence and a true friend whose kindness and humility touched everyone around him. As we mourn him, I hold his family, friends and all who loved him in my thoughts. May we find comfort in the memories we shared and the legacy he leaves behind”, he said.

Eliud Owalo, Deputy Chief of Staff, Delivery and Government Efficiency also mourned him.

“It is with deep sorrow that I have learnt of the passing of Festus Amimo Wuod Awasi. Until his untimely demise, he served with dedication and passion as Head of Mayienga FM, a station of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC)”, he said.

“My heartfelt condolences go to his wife and children, his entire family, colleagues, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May God grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. May Festus’s soul rest in eternal peace.” He added.

Siaya Governor James Orengo cherished the on-air moments with Amimo, who regularly invited top guests to his breakfast show.

“Your sessions on air were exceptional, marked by grace, depth, and unwavering respect for every guest who sat across from you. Shine on your path, my good friend, Wuod Awasi. Your voice and spirit will be dearly missed”, the governor mourned.

Orengo described Amimo as a calm, collected, and truly gifted soul, noting that his loss is a heavy blow to the entire media fraternity.

Senator Tom Ojienda who was also hosted by Amimo said he was a friend. The late Raila Odinga also graced the show.

“It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the sudden passing of Festus Amimo,Head of KBC Dholuo at Mayienga Radio. Festus was more than a journalist.He remained a friend, a brother and a steady presence whose humility and kindness touched everyone who crossed his path”, he tweeted.

“As we come to terms with this untimely and painful loss,his family, colleagues and the entire Mayienga FM fraternity remain in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant them strength and fortitude at this difficult moment”, he noted.

Amimo celebrated his birthday last week. His body has been moved to Montezuma funeral home.
