The ongoing crackdown aimed at dismantling criminal gangs in the Coast Region has achieved yet another significant breakthrough with the arrest of three more notorious suspects.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations who were acting on intelligence raided the residence of two suspects in the Denyenye area, Ng’ombeni where Bakari Idi Raisi (19) and Daudi Munye Mandu (18) were arrested.

The two; suspected to members of the infamous Panga Boys gang, which has been terrorizing members of the public along the Dongo Kundu bypass and Likoni-Ukunda road were nabbed by a team of security officers drawn from Kwale County.

The suspects are currently in custody at Kwale Police Station.

In a separate operation in Kilifi County, Joshua Ngala Hinzano, also known as “Goliath”, was also arrested at Tangini Village, Madamani, Ganze after being on the run for his involvement in the triple murders in Malindi.

“All the three suspects are undergoing processing pending arrangement as the security operation continues across the Coast Region with the clear goal of making the area safer for all residents,” said the DCI through a statement on its social media pages.

In Moyale, a 33-year-old identified by DCI as Festus Arasa Omwamba was apprehended for his involvement in human trafficking.

According to DCI, Festus is believed to be a key player in a more extensive human trafficking syndicate that exploits vulnerable individuals by promising them legitimate employment opportunities in European countries.

However, upon arrival, these unsuspecting victims find themselves trapped in illegal and perilous jobs, stripping them of their dignity and safety, the DCI said.

He is currently in police custody undergoing processing in preparation for his impending arraignment.
