The country’s political leaders have been encourage to reconcile with Kenyans who feel that their struggles are not being adequately addressed.
Speaking during Easter celebrations, where Catholics participated in the Way of the Cross in Nairobi, Consolata Shrine Parish Priest Fr. Joseph Mzito emphasized the need for justice for all. He urged a deeper reflection on the situation in the country during this Easter period, ensuring that no Kenyan is left in pain.
“We pray for the unity of our country. We pray for peace. We pray that this Easter season will find us reconciled with Him and at peace with one another. We look forward to prosperity for each and every one of us,” he said.
Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna, who joined the congregants in the Way of the Cross, challenged his fellow politicians to address the concerns raised by Kenyans rather than relying on their own understanding.
“As leaders, we must remind ourselves that we were elected by Kenyans to serve them selflessly. Let us listen to Kenyans and take into consideration what they are saying,” said Nguna.
According to the MP, politicians are not aligning with the needs of most Kenyans, thereby deviating from the true spirit of leadership.
