The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has raised concerns over the suitability of David Kiplagat Kerich for the Washington DC, USA Ambassadorial post.

However, the Committee Chair and Belgut Member of Parliament Nelson Koech allowed the Nominee to make his submissions.

During his vetting, the lawmakers acknowledged the importance of the USA as a strategic partner through the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) which is Kenya’s biggest export market.

Kiplagat said he will leverage the trade agreement and increase export volumes.

“We can sensitize our farmers and traders on AGOA as well as take advantage of the export processing zone to promote the apparel sector,” he said.

Hon. Halima Yussuf Mucheke, the nominee to The Hague, Netherlands and Ms. Jessica Muthoni Gakinya ambassadorial nominee for the Kingdom of Morocco were also vetted by the Committee.
