Global music heavyweights French Montana and Davido will take the stage in Rabat, Morocco, as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) sets the tone for the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations with a major pre-tournament concert.

The high-energy showcase is scheduled for Saturday, 20 December, just a day before AFCON 2025 officially gets underway, and will be held at the OLM Souissi Fan Zone.

Organised by CAF in partnership with TotalEnergies and the Kingdom of Morocco, the concert is designed as a cultural curtain-raiser for Africa’s biggest football spectacle.

It forms part of a wider push to blend sport, music and popular culture, transforming the AFCON build-up into a continental celebration that resonates beyond the pitch.

For French Montana, the event carries special significance.

“The Moroccan-born, US-based rapper will be performing on home soil, marking a symbolic return as he headlines one of the most high-profile entertainment events linked to the tournament,” the organisers said.

Joining him is Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, whose influence has helped propel African music onto the global stage.

Organisers said of the “Fall” star: “Davido’s performance underscores the central role of African pop culture in shaping the identity of modern AFCON tournaments.”

The concert lineup also features a mix of regional and international talent, including Moroccan artists Douaa Lahyaoui and Says’z, alongside Franco-Moroccan singer Lartiste.

Together, the performers reflect the diversity and creative energy CAF hopes to spotlight as Morocco prepares to host the continent.

“By fusing football with music and live entertainment, we hope to position AFCON 2025 as more than a sporting event but to reinforce AFCON’s growing reputation as a cultural and sporting showcase,” organisers said.
