Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) elections have been postponed due to lack of quorum.

The elections which were set for today (Saturday) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) failed to proceed after it did not meet the 2/3 threshold.

The executive council is set to meet and issue new dates for the KEG presidential elections within the next 30 days.

KEG had earlier in the week announced Veteran journalists Zubeidah Kananu and Yvonne Okwara has the two contestants for the presidential seat in the much anticipated elections.

KEG Returning Officer, Advocate Sophie Kaibiria said the nominations were thoroughly vetted and approved in accordance with the Guild’s Constitution and the KEG Elections Policy Guidelines dated March 3, 2025.

Kananu, who is the incumbent president and the first woman to hold the position, is seeking re-election.

She will face off against Okwara, an anchor at Citizen TV.
