Rising Stars, under the tutelage of Salim Babu, which is making its debut appearance at the biennial tournament, completed its training today ahead of the stun test.

Kenya assistant Anthony Akhulia has hailed the team’s preparations and says the spirits and morale are high in the camp and they are going for nothing less than a victory despite missing the services of three players due to injuries.

“We lack three players who are injured, but we can manage the situation. We respect Morocco, but we know our ability, and we must win our first game. We will try to go for a win to motivate us into the 2nd match. The team is highly motivated.” said Akhulia

Speaking today during the pre-match press conference, Kenya team captain Amos Wanjala said they want to start with a positive result tomorrow.

“We work as a team; we have a good gel, and we are waiting for a good championship. We will try not to repeat the mistakes we committed against Ghana, conceding easy goals against Morocco tomorrow.”said Wanjala

Kenya will face Morocco tomorrow at 9pm EAT at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium, before taking on Tunisia Sunday, 4th May, and conclude their group’s assignment against Nigeria on 7th next month.
