Dr Ida Odinga has appealed to mourners to accord the fallen former Prime Minister Raila Odinga a peaceful send off at his Opoda Farm in Bondo.
Mama Ida who arrived at the family home in Siaya County at around midday has called on mourners to condole with the family in a respectable manner.
“I want to appeal to our people that we must mourn Raila in peace. it is a solemn occasion, it is not an occasion of confusion,” she appealed to to thousands of mourners who continue to arrive at the family home.
Dr Ida emerged to address the press amid growing commotion by thousands of mourners, a situation which is turning rowdy. She called on Kenyans to show respect especially to the dignitaries who have come to pay their last respects to the late Odinga.
“We have all lost our leader. I have lost my husband, my children have lost their farther,” she stated.
“In this home today, we have people from Zimbabwe, South Africa, South Suda. We also have General Olusegun Obasanjo, former President Of Nigeria and other dignitaries from other places.”
Remains of the former premier are set to be airlifted from Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu County where thousands of mourners lined up to pay their last respects from 8am to his home is Siaya County where burial is set for Sunday.
