More than 300 golfers are expected to take part in the Nakuru Golf Club four-day centennial tournament .
The tournament teed off Thursday with the chairmen`s, captains and lady captains face-off followed by the Nakuru Governor`s Shield tomorrow.
The climax of the grueling golf derby – the Centennial Tournaments and a themed gala Dinner have been slated for Saturday.
Riveting junior tournaments and an exhilarating family day are anticipated to draw the fete to a close on Sunday.
The tournament`s promoter and Marketing executive at the Nakuru Golf Club Ms. Catherine Kanyi says the golf tournaments aim to raise funds for development projects at the club.
She added that the events will provide an opportunity to ace golfers to mentor armature and young golfers for a new and better golfing generation.
The Nakuru Golf Club has grown to be a premier upcountry club from the first time a golf ball was hit on the course in 1923 by Lord Scott.
The club boasts a membership portfolio of over 700 members.
