Parents urged to take care of their children during April holidays

Parents have been urged to take care of their children now that the children are on their April holidays according to education calendar.

Speaking during an organized special church service for the students and pupils, the Bishop of the Mountain of Hope Worship center in Gitimbene within Meru town, Bishop Joseph Nkurumba said that he held this special summon for the parents, students and pupils who are enjoying their April holidays.

According to the Bishop, parents should be responsible in ensuring that their children desist from drugs abuse and alcoholism.

He said, parents have a responsibility in ensuring that their children don’t indulge the children in unlawful activities.

On the National politics, the Bishop appealed to Meru residents to support the newly Meru Governor Rev. Isaac Mutuma and appealed to former Governor Kawira Mwangaza to support the new administration.

The Bishop said Meru County is leading in early pregnancy especially on the northern parts of Meru County which includes; Igembe region and Tigania.

The Bishop of the Mountain of Hope Worship center called upon other church leaders to appreciate donations being made by politicians.

Meru has been ranked the worst in GBV and early marriages especially when girl child comes home for holidays. This is according to statistics by NACADA, putting county at risk especially from Northern parts of Meru County.
