In a crackdown against narcotics trafficking, a multi-agency team, including officers from Mugutha Police Station and the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), has arrested two drug traffickers and confiscated 800 rolls of bhang.

The suspects, Tyson Mwai, 30, and Samson Gathuki, 21, were arrested during a targeted raid in Kimbo area.

“Authorities not only seized the rolls but also discovered a range of bhang packaged in sachets: 13 polythene sachets of 35 grams each, five sachets weighing 130 grams, 44 sachets of 16 grams, and two digital weighing machines, signalling a well-organized trafficking operation”, the DCI said.

The duo is currently in police custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment.

Elsewhere, in Moyale, officers on patrol intercepted a motorcycle with registration number KMGM 369D, laden with two suspicious sacks. The rider abandoned the motorcycle and fled the scene. Upon inspecting the sacks, officers discovered a total of 20 bales of bhang, weighing approximately 100 kilograms.

The recovered narcotics and motorcycle are securely detained as exhibits.

Meanwhile, efforts to apprehend the suspect who escaped are ongoing.
