President William Ruto has made changes to his Cabinet, announcing new appointments and reassignments, Wednesday afternoon.
In a statement from the Office of the President, Justin Muturi has been dropped as the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Public Service and Human Capital Development and replaced with Mbeere North Member of Parliament Geoffrey Ruku.
The changes announced on Wednesday afternoon have also seen the President re-assign CS Aden Duale to the Ministry of Health and CS Dr. Deborah Barasa to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
Hanna Wendot Cheptumo has been nominated as Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, The Arts & Heritage. The position has been vacant since the name of Stella Soi Langata was rejected by Parliament after vetting.
Ruku and Cheptumo are expected to go before the appointments committee, chaired by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, once the names have been formally submitted in parliament.
