President William Ruto has expressed his willingness to work with any patriotic leader who prioritises the country’s interests.

Speaking in Lang’ata constituency, Nairobi County, where he launched several projects, the President defended his cooperation with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

He told the residents gathered to welcome him that his primary focus is on transforming Kenya, a goal that can only be achieved through unity.

“Raila is a patriotic leader who recognises that the transformation and unity of Kenya are crucial. Let us work together for the progress and transformation of our nation,” he stated.

The head of state has been on an extensive tour of Nairobi County since Monday.

Ruto officially inaugurated the PCEA Booth Girls’ High School in Ngong’ Forest, Nairobi, committing to sponsor 10 vulnerable girls from each of the 17 constituencies for enrollment in the institution.

He said his administration is committed to eliminating cultural practices that hinder girls from attending and completing school.

“Through guaranteed access to quality learning, we can further gender equality and empower our girls to actively participate in the transformation of Kenya”, he noted.

He also broke ground for the construction of the Southlands Lang’ata Affordable Housing Project – Lot 5 in Mugumoini, Lang’ata Constituency.

The project will have 60 residential blocks with 15,960 residential units, two community centres and a primary school.

The President emphasised the significance of the housing programme.

“Our affordable housing projects will eradicate slums in Lang’ata and Kibra, turning them into estates that provide decent living conditions to people”. He said.
