Eight Kenyans will be in action in both track and field events as the World Athletics U20 Championships enters day 2 today in Eugene, Oregon, USA, but all Kenyan events will be preliminaries.
Nicholas Kitum Losiwereng and African champion Emmanuel Lemiso will be in Heat 1 and 2 of the 3000m SC round 1 from 10:05 local time.
The African U18 silver medalist and the only field event Team Kenya athlete will be in qualification group B of the triple jump from midday, followed by Judith Sapato, who will take to the track for the 400m round 1 shortly before 2 p.m.
David Kapaiko will open the afternoon sessions for Kenyans from 6 p.m. local time in heat 2 of the 1500m round 1, while another Kenyan, Wilson Chepkoech, will be up in Heat 3 from 6:50 p.m.
Caren Chepchirchir will step on the Hayward Field track starting at 7:03 p.m. in heat 1 round one of the 1500m as Josephine Sembeyo competes in heat 2.
