Niger, a semi-finalist in the last edition, will be competing for their 5th time in the biennial tournament set for East Africa between the 2nd and 30th next month.

Known as the Mena A’, Niger boasts of a strong defence and up-and-coming players as they work to enhance their performance.

Their tactical discipline and resolute approach make them a strong side to watch in this year’s edition.

Qualification:

Niger drew 1-1 away to Togo who played their home match in Bamako Mali in the first leg of the Qualification before following it up with a goalless draw in the 2nd leg encounter at home to seal their ticket on away goal rule.

Niger will kick off their group C campaign underway against Co-host Uganda on 4th August at the Mandela National stadium Namboole.

Among her many notable accomplishments include leading Niger to their first CHAN tournament in 2011 and their berth in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012.

Depending on the opponent, he can modify his 4-4-2 system into a more offensive or defensive configuration, demonstrating his tactical versatility.

Leading Niger to their first CHAN final and beyond is the goal of the seasoned coach.

Key Player: Abraham Agora

The left-back, who is 22 years old, is now a vital member of Niger’s defence. Agora is a dual threat on the field because of his strong offensive contributions, especially from set pieces, in addition to his defensive skills.
