Victor Wanyama withdraws from Harambee Stars squad

Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama has withdrawn from the recently named provisional squad  ahead of the back to back friendly matches against Chad.

Wanyama who plays for Scottish side Dunfermline Athletic Fc was named in Kenya’s squad for the first time in five years but announced he will not be available for selection due to personal commitments. Kenya is set to face Chad on June 7th and 10th in Morocco.

Harambee Stars head coach Benni Macarthy has since named Gor Mahia FC Austine Odhiambo as Wanyama’s replacement in the squad.

The Harambee Stars Players  are expected to report to residential camp on Monday  June 2.

Kenya will use the Chad Friendly matches to prepare for the forthcoming Africa Nations Championship,CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Kenya,Tanzania and Uganda from August 2nd-30th.
