Cherotich storms to World Lead as Wanyonyi bounces back to victory in Oslo

Olympic bronze medalist Faith Cherotich, continued with her imperious form this season, winning the 3,000m steeplechase, in style with a World-Leading time and a new meeting record of 9:02.60, on Thursday night at the Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway.

It was her 2nd victory in the Diamond League this season after winning in Doha last month .

Olympic Champion Kenyan born Winfred Yavi of Bahrain finished 2nd in 9:02.76, followed by Tunisian Marwa Bouyazani, who clocked 9:06.84.

Olympic 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi registered his first win in Diamond League this season with a seasonal best time of 1:42.78.

Mohammed Attaoui of Spain, finished 2nd in 1:42.90, followed by Djamel Sedjati of Algeria in 3rd position.

Timothy Cheruiyot of Kenya finished a distant 4th in the Dream Mile won by Portuguese Isaac Nader.

Olympic champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia, registered her first win in the Diamond League this season in the 100 m, clocking a seasonal best time of 10.89, followed by Marie Josee Talou from Ivory Coast in 11.00, with Briton Dina Asher Smith completing the podium positions in 11.08.
