A police officer has been killed while guarding Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) national examination papers in Turkana County.
The officer identified as Constable Chrisphine Ouma Diya lost is life after unknown assailants ambushed him and opened fire and made away with his firearm.
His family members in Kopiyo Village, Homa Bay County said the late officer had been the sole breadwinner and had recently shared plans to start a small business to support his family. His sudden death has now shattered those dreams, leaving the household facing financial hardship and uncertainty.
Relatives in Homa Bay described him as a responsible man who supported his siblings’ education and took care of his aging mother. His death has disrupted the family’s stability, with many now unsure how to continue without his support.
The family is now appealing to the government for assistance, saying they have been left with no source of income. They are also calling for financial aid, employment opportunities, or any form of support to help them rebuild their lives.
