ibis Styles Nairobi Westlands has unveiled ‘The Green Room’, fully powered by renewable energy from 296 panel rooftop solar installation demonstrating that performance, creativity, and responsibility can work hand in hand.
Speaking Tuesday evening during the event, the General Manager, ibis Styles Nairobi Westlands, Thomas Simonnet noted that the launch of The Green Room is a milestone in reducing the hotel’s carbon footprint while elevating guest experiences through environmentally conscious design.
“This project represents our commitment to a greener future,” said Simonnet remarked.
The Green Room blends contemporary aesthetics with renewable energy, delivering a unique eco-lifestyle experience with the space designed for cocktails, private events, intimate gatherings, and creative experiences.
He noted that by running entirely on renewable energy, it demonstrates how creativity, performance, and environmental responsibility can thrive together merging both the ibis Styles spirit and Accor’s global commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism.
The Roof

At the same time, the hotel reopened The Roof, introducing a stylish, relaxed rooftop destination where guests can enjoy curated cocktails, vibrant entertainment and panoramic views.
The Roof has been infused with bold décor and a playful spirit, it bringing the “funky & fresh” brand identity to life.
“After several months of dedicated work, we are delighted to reopen our iconic rooftop a timeless symbol of renewal.” The GM noted.
Kilele Nyama
The facility also reimagined Kilele Nyama, a restaurant Simonnet says is more than a dining venue, noting “it is an experience”.

He remarked that Kilele Nyama features a refreshed concept that blends tapas, wine, and curated culinary experiences designed for sharing and celebration.
Adding that: “The expanded space now features one of the most beautifully crafted designs in the city, becoming the first Kenyan restaurant to combine traditional Nubian architectural inspiration with refined international style. It is a tribute to Kenya’s rich heritage, interpreted through a contemporary lens.”
The grand opening brought together key stakeholders, partners, industry leaders, and media with the GM saying the project is not just a hotel enhancement but a clear reflection of the group’s broader vision for sustainable development.
The GM noted that the project aligns with global sustainability trends, offering a blueprint for future-forward hospitality in Kenya.
