Sibling rivalry between Isiolo South UDA candidate Tubi Mohamed and Bina Tubi of the Jubilee Party played out in the open as they arrived separately at Garbatulla High School tallying centre to witness the breaking of ballot box seals.

The two children (brother and sister) of former area lawmaker Mohamed Tubi Bidu, who died in November last year paving the way for the poll scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday), did not speak to each other during the entire verification process.

Tension was evident as each walked into the hall without exchanging the usual pleasantries expected.

They, however, sat together briefly for a briefing by the IEBC Returning Officer for Garbatulla Sub-county, Abdi Sheikh, before walking out. It was clear that the two were deliberately avoiding each other.

Tubi Mohammed, who exuded confidence in clinching the seat, said he was satisfied with the preparations by the IEBC and urged residents to turn out in large numbers to cast their votes.

His sister, Bina, remained distant, declining to speak to the press.
