It’s all systems go for 60th Mashujaa celebrations

The Mashujaa Day celebrations have brought Kericho town to a standstill as thousands turn up to witness the event.

Residents eager to celebrate their heroes and heroines, braved the chilly weather, streaming in to the Kericho Green Stadium from as early as 3.00am.

Long queues were also witnessed at the stadiums’s main gates as people passed through security checks for screening.

Police have also intensified patrols and surveillance to ensure safety of all attendees.

President William Ruto is expected to land at the Kerenga Airstrip by 8.00am and will then proceed to the venue to lead Kenyans in the celebrations alongside First Lady Rachel Ruto.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Cabinet Secretaries, and Governors are also expected to grace the celebrations alongside other political leaders and dignitaries.

Entertainment groups and disciplined forces will be performing as is the tradition in all Mashujaa celebrations.

After the celebrations, dignitaries and invited guests will proceed to the County Commissioner’s residence for the State garden party.

This year’s Mashujaa day is themed universal Health Care: ‘Afya Nyumbani’.
