The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety for agricultural products circulating within the market.

With a primary focus on safeguarding the interests of farmers, KEBS has intensified efforts to ensure that only certified top-quality fertilizers are available for agricultural use.

In a statement released on Tuesday,  KEBS emphasized its proactive approach to quality assurance, which includes rigorous testing, vigilant monitoring, and collaboration with industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

KEBS has also called upon farmers to remain vigilant and report any concerns regarding the quality of agricultural inputs to the relevant authorities.

To further empower farmers in this endeavor, KEBS has launched the “Wajibika Na KEBS” campaign, encouraging community members to actively participate in safeguarding product quality.

As part of the campaign, farmers are urged to verify the authenticity of agricultural products by checking for the S-Mark permit.

This can be done by sending the code underneath the S-Mark to 20023 or the ISM Mark to 20023 to receive product manufacturing details.

Any discrepancies or suspicions regarding product authenticity should be reported immediately to KEBS through their Toll-Free Number 1545 during official working hours.
