In a meeting between Cabinet Secretary Senator Mutahi Kagwe and Valerie Guarnieri, WFP Assistant Executive Director, held in Italy Thursday morning.

Speaking in a meeting with WFP Assistant Executive Director, Valerie Guarnieri  in Italy, CS Kagwe emphasized Kenya’s continued support for WFP’s key initiatives, particularly food assistance and school meal programs.

These programs he says have played a crucial role in enhancing education, improving health outcomes, and boosting overall well-being among vulnerable communities.

This engagement follows the recent visit by WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain, who, at the invitation of President William Ruto, launched the School Meals Initiative a program aimed at ensuring that children receive adequate nutrition to support their learning and development.

Looking ahead, Kenya is focused on deepening collaboration in agriculture and livestock to bolster food production and economic opportunities. The government aims to ensure that farmers have better access to markets, financial resources, efficient transportation, and enhanced regional trade opportunities.
