The Department of Health in Kericho County is set for the immunization of children aged between nine months and 14 years, against measles-rubella and typhoid.
The immunization exercise will run from 4th-14th July 2025 and will be conducted in both public and private health facilities, schools, churches and markets across the County.
According to Kericho County Health Promotion Officer Geoffrey Kigen, there is rampant outbreak of measles and typhoid within the bracket age and the vaccines expected to be administered are effective in terms of prevention.
Kigen called on parents to ensure that they take their children for vaccination which will be administered free of charge so that they achieve the target of 95 percent immunization in the County.
The 10-day exercise will target approximately 3.9 children across all 47 Counties after which both vaccines will be incorporated into Kenya’s routine immunization schedule.
